Body color vs. gloss black? We're debating if body-colored or gloss-black side blades for the new Macan EV? We (and by "we" I mean mostly my wife and our teens) are stuck between these two options. Carbon fiber is out for us. She compared the images here's her take: The body-colored m ight not match perfectly, especially with metallic paint, and the curved blades catch the light differently than flat panels. A slight mismatch could scream "bad paint job!" While the gloss black makes a statement, visually stretches the car, and stands out more from the body. We're leaning towards gloss black based on 'her' logic (and my win on the turbo and rear steering!). But hey, that's just us! What are your thoughts? Any other factors to consider?

I’d probably lean toward gloss black too, it sounds like it adds a nice contrast and makes the design pop. But do you think it’s harder to keep clean or maintain compared to body-colored blades? I’m curious how much of a difference that would make long-term.

Choosing body-colored side blades for a smooth, subtle look that blends with the car while still serving their purpose.

It’s highly subjective and personal, but I think the gloss black side blades don’t work well with the white, silver and gray car colors. They look too uneven, cut-up and unclean.

We looked at various Mecans in-person, and ordered a silver with the side blades in matching, or close to matching silver color (after seeing the silver with the gloss black side blades - which with all the other black on the tires, tire wells, window trims, roof rails, etc., was a bit too much for us).
