Getting ahead of the game, nice! For the Macan EV, a Level 2 charger with at least 40 amps is ideal to optimize its onboard charging system. The Porsche Wall Charger Connect offers a seamless, branded experience, but alternatives like the ChargePoint Home Flex or JuiceBox 40 can give you more flexibility with features like app integration. It’s a good idea to check local incentives for EV charger installation, it might save you some money. Have you scoped out your electrical setup yet?

My Macan has both a J1772 and a CCS1 charging port. Since CCS1 includes J1772, I should be able to AC charge at either port.
I can get an AC charge at almost any NACS (J3400) station using a simple adapter. These adapters cost between $110 and $160. I personally use one from Lectron.
Ideally, I should be able to DC fast charge at most Tesla Superchargers with a NACS adapter in the future. However, only Ford, Rivian, and GM vehicles can currently charge at Superchargers without a special adapter. Tesla will need to enable this functionality for other brand

Nice planning ahead! While the Porsche Wall Charger Connect is a safe choice for the Macan EV it’s on the pricier side. Alternatives like the Emporia Smart EV Charger or JuiceBox 40 offer similar performance at a lower cost. Just double-check your home’s electrical capacity to make sure it’s ready for a 40-amp charger.

Since the Macan EV isn’t out yet, it’s hard to say what the best charger will be, but based on other Porsche EVs (Taycan, etc.), you’ll want a 48A Level 2 charger to maximize home charging.
Porsche’s Wall Charger Connect is the official option, but you don’t need to stick with it. I’d also check with your electrician to see if your panel supports a 60A circuit, you’ll want to get the most out of your home charging setup.

For your Macan EV, the Tesla Wall Connector (with an adapter) is fast and reliable. The JuiceBox 40 offers great power with app control, and the ChargePoint Home Flex is flexible with adjustable power levels. Just make sure it’s compatible with the Macan’s port and supports 240V charging!
