Torn on the rear wiper. While I love the clean look without one, practicality matters too. My Taycan's wiper started scratching after just a few months, and I'm worried the Macan might be the same. Anyone have experience with similar treatments to make rain just bead up and roll off? Is a spotless rear window worth the potential wiper annoyance?

I just apply Rain-X water repellent on my windows and it really does the job. I don't even need to use my front wipers if I want to.

I also don't have rear wipers, that's why I decided to buy a water repellent. I hate looking at my car with a rear wiper.

You can polish out minor scratches on glass, but it's a lot of work. I'd check with some detailing shops – some of them offer this service. Since it's labor-intensive, it's usually cheaper to just replace the windshield. This is especially true for modern cars. I recently read about two people who paid over $4,500 for windshield replacements, which seems pretty expensive!

You could also try doing it yourself. I found some helpful YouTube videos, and it's definitely possible with some elbow grease. I've successfully polished out small scratches and even filled in a small chip on another car (not my Taycan). I couldn't completely remove the chip, but it became much less noticeable.

If you decide to try it yourself, be prepared for it to take some time and effort.

Just order the car with the rear wiper, then take it off. Then 3D print a little cover for the hole to keep it looking clean. If it starts raining a lot, you can quickly put the wiper back on. We've had rain for months here, so I also had this option.
